Minimum $1000.00 Sales
If you are an on site liquor license holder in the State of Michigan you probably have club keno games. This includes keno and pull tabs. The original terms were that the owner install all the necessary electrical, and separate phone lines, and maintain a separate checking account for automatic deductions. The minimum sales requirement was $500.00 per week to keep the terminal in your business.
We small pub/restaurant owners built up the keno business for the State of Michigan. We showed our customers how to play and marketed the product for the state. Now, the lottery commission has raised the minimum sales requirement to $1000.00 per week.
Small neighborhood pubs cannot sustain that kind of sales every week. We are being pushed out to make way for larger business. If you do not meet the weekly sales requirement, the lottery charges you $70.00 per week. Pull tab tickets are not calculated into the minimum sales.
I don't know about you, but I can't afford to give the State of Michigan $280.00 per month. I just got done paying off my pull tab machine, which cost $3500.00.
Please comment, I would like to start a grass roots movement to persuade the lottery commission to reverse this idiotic minimum sales requirement.
